Grant Writing Assistance:
Central Regional Education Association, in partnership with Nexus-PATH, engaged with Strengthen ND to write for a U.S. Department of Education grant to establish a Full Service Community Schools Consortium in North Dakota. Working on a three-week deadline, Strengthen ND served as the lead grant writer, allowing for the successful receipt of a $2.5 million federal grant – even securing a perfect score on the grant evaluation.

Program Design and Evaluation:
Strengthen ND continues to work with the Central Regional Education Association (CREA) to build their evaluation capacity to document their impact. Specifically, Strengthen ND supports and builds the capacity of CREA staff through Ripple Effect Mapping. Often utilized by state extension services, Ripple Effect Mapping (REM) is an evaluation method utilized to discover the impacts of community projects or programs. REM combines several evaluation techniques to produce “maps” that tell the story of a program, truly depicting the effects of an initiative. REM can be utilized to understand both the intended and unintended results of a program on individuals, groups, communities and regions.
