BIO Girls – Statewide and Fargo area

BIO Girls is a non-profit organization that offers preventative programming to improve the self-esteem and mental health of adolescent girls through empowerment of the self, relationship building, and service to others.

AmeriCorps Members are responsible for facilitating youth and teen programming, data entry, facilitating programming, and marketing tasks.

Empire Volleyball Club – North Central North Dakota

The Empire Volleyball Club is in its second year of operation. EVC provides opportunities for female youth, ages 10-18, to participate in learning skills, strategy, and game play in volleyball. This club is open to individuals in a one-hundred-mile radius of Minot, ND, having a majority of the participants within a 30-mile radius, but some participants as far away as 110 miles.

This AmeriCorps position will work to build and expand the capacity of our organization through strategic communications; volunteer recruitment; and marketing and community outreach to include community partners, members, and the community at large.

Full STEAM Ahead – Northcentral North Dakota

The After School Enrichment program (ASE) led by Full STEAM Ahead is an after school based educational program for youth in local elementary schools.

The role of the Full STEAM Ahead AmeriCorps After School Enrichment instructors are to implement a curriculum based on a variety of STEAM based programming (to include but not limited to robotics, theatre, art, agriculture, coding). AmeriCorps volunteers will have the opportunity to meet with local experts regarding these fields and review and plan curriculum to execute 7 months of after school enrichment programming at a local elementary school.

Grand River Arts Council – Southwest North Dakota

Grand River Arts Council strives to partner, support, and collaborate with those committed to creativity, and encourage a community passion for the arts.

The Grand River Arts Council Media and Event Coordinator AmeriCorps member will increase capacity of the organization through reviewing current media strategies and developing marketing efforts to improve community presence. In addition, the Coordinator will work with the Board of Directors to create and execute arts events in the community.

Minot Symphony and Orchestra – North Central and Northwest North Dakota

The Minot Symphony, a university and community orchestra, aims to enrich lives by providing opportunities for musicians and inspiration to patrons through education and the performance of diverse orchestral repertoire.

This AmeriCorps position will assist the Executive Director with program duties include marketing, planning, and scheduling. This position will also assist in coordinating and implementing other Minot Symphony Orchestra events.

Strengthen ND is a dynamic, multi-faceted and well-connected organization that works across North Dakota (ND) to elevate nonprofits and rural communities to support a high quality of life and resources for vulnerable populations through community development. Through the support of AmeriCorps, Strengthen ND can assist North Dakota communities by providing individuals to assist in the building of community capacities.

Strengthen ND Rural Storyteller – Statewide

The Member Storytelling and Statewide Community Building coordinator works with communities to build trust, interview and write the story of local individuals in North Dakota communities. Complete one written story per month, highlighting the individual’s role, their community’s opportunities, and lessons learned.

Strengthen ND Agrotourism Coordinator – Ward County

The Agrotourism Coordinator works to identify and inventory current small production agriculture businesses and small ranchers operating in Ward County and the immediate 7-county region. This individual also creates maps and matrix of those engaging in agritourism. Working with Strengthen ND’s Local Foods Coordinator and Visit Minot’s Executive Director, this individual also creates a report of opportunities to grow agritourism in the selected regions.

Bakken Oil Rush Ministry is a mainstay western North Dakota resource which helps those in need by providing for physical, spiritual and social needs so that they can draw closer to Jesus and become positive contributors back to the community. Through the support of AmeriCorps, Bakken Oil Rush Ministry can assist the McKenzie County Community by providing individuals to assist in the building of community capacities. The Community Outreach and Communication Coordinator position will allow Bakken Oil Rush Ministry to coordinate and communicate outreach assistance for the betterment of the McKenzie County Community.

Bismarck Global Neighbors (BGN) is a small non-profit serving New Americans in Bismarck-Mandan North Dakota and the surrounding communities. This includes immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and low-English speaking populations. Global Neighbors provides advocacy, mentoring, and integration services to New Americans regardless of income, origin, or legal status. We are also contracted to provide resettlement services and refugee support services to eligible refugee populations.
The AmeriCorps member helps our organization expand capacity and focus by working with diverse families from all over the globe–current clients served are from Ukraine, Mauritania, Mexico, South Korea, and Ghana acclimate to living in North Dakota.

The Placemaking and Capacity Building Coordinator AmeriCorps position is a unique position that will lead the City of Wing downtown and local community activities, placemaking efforts, and business-focused events. This position will work to create an authentic and unique experience for community members, visitors, and businesses in the community, bringing vibrancy and community engagement to the spaces and places of downtown and our local community.

Civic West is a developing project led by residents and partners in the city of West Fargo for the purpose of increasing civic knowledge and engagement in the community.
The AmeriCorps Program Coordinator will develop, implement, and maintain programs and partnerships that promote and support the organization’s goals.

Since 1994, Cultural Diversity Resources (CDR), has served as an intercultural bridge to connect diverse communities.  With growing multi-cultural populations our goals are to inform, educate and assist everyone, increase diversity and inclusion in communities, and create opportunities by eliminating barriers to community participation.
The AmeriCorps Member serving as the Indigenous Community Organizer educates and empowers low-income Indigenous population to reduce poverty and achieve an excellent quality of life in partnership with Cultural Diversity Resources.
The Youth Coordinator Assist position educates and empowers youth from low-income New Americans and ‘Black, Indigenous, People of Color’ (BIPOC) populations to reduce poverty and achieve an excellent quality of life.

The Empire Arts Center is a place for people of all ages to gather and be inspired. Since its rebirth as an arts center in 1998, the Empire has become a cultural anchor of historic downtown Grand Forks, welcoming over 30,000 visitors each year. No longer just a movie house, you can find Broadway stars, regional actors, ballerinas, and budding young musicians on our stage.

Guest Services Manager – a public facing position responsible for hospitality and welcoming by engaging with guests and users to ensure their needs are met; 2. Production & Education Coordinator- works with senior staff members to ensure in-house programming has the needed elements for individual shows and to develop and manage educational activities for all ages; 3. Social Media Manager – develops and implements social media strategies that align with the Empire’s mission and goals.

The Immigration Development Center creates strong partnerships throughout the Fargo-Moorhead Communities, while generating Micro-Business Development to benefit both neighborhood and community development to bring Immigrants together who have a common goal in caring about the well-being of others, and their environmental surroundings.

AmeriCorps Members at this location will develop and implement community engagement strategies, initiatives, and events, as well as implement volunteer engagement strategies that enhance the connection between the immigrant community and the broader Fargo-Moorhead community.

The Lake Region Public Library opened on Monday, December 22, 2003. The library’s collection numbers over 43,800 items and has eight (8) internet accessible computers and Wi-Fi available to the public. The Lake Region Public Library is the proud successor of the venerable Carnegie Public Library, which served the Lake Region Community from January 21, 1910 until November 26, 2003 — over 93 years!

The Lake Region Public Library (LRPL) & Lake Region Heritage Center (LRHC) Facilities Assistant AmeriCorps member will assist the local library and heritage center with inventory, sorting, cataloguing, and organization to support day-to-day operations of both organizations. This position will assess current systems and inventory in place and create and implement strategies for storage, display, and organization of books, artifacts, and general facility items based on said assessment. This position will strive to optimize the systems and processes for intake of new items, donations, historical documents, etc. which in turn will elevate the offerings of LRPL and LRHC in the greater Devils Lake area.

The AmeriCorps position will primarily tutor individuals and small groups of adult English Language Learners as needed in language, literacy, speaking, listening, reading, writing, financial literacy and employability skills.

The goal is to engage our young girls in workshops that will enhance their self-image, goal setting, communications, etiquette skills, networking skills, and leadership skills. We want to help the girls to make choices that will produce self-assured, positive thinking.

The position of liaison of Strong Farms and AmeriCorps will be a key position of communication, facilitation, coaching, mentoring and leadership. As the incubator farm continues to develop, AmeriCorps Member will assist in business planning, structure, policies and procedures. As AmeriCorps volunteers are hired, this position will serve to onboard, provide on-the-job training and support, and coach each volunteer.

The Sheyenne Community Capacity Coordinator position works with Town Board members on community projects, attending monthly meetings. This position also schedules and lead community GRIT meetings, reaches out to community partners including Park Board, Museum Board, Rodeo Club, County Commission, Civic Association, Fire Department, Open Season Lodge Board, Farmers Market vendors, and others; to assess needs, search out funding, coordinate marketing and information sharing. The AmeriCorps member also works with community volunteers, business owners, farmers, school board members; relating to ongoing projects and promotes community involvement through volunteer opportunity awareness.

The Jamestown Fine Arts Association (aka: The Arts Center) is an exciting place where individuals can be engaged in the arts—whether they are a visual artist, actor, writer, student, audience member or supporter.
