BIO Girls – Statewide and Fargo area

BIO Girls is a non-profit organization that offers preventative programming to improve the self-esteem and mental health of adolescent girls through empowerment of the self, relationship building, and service to others.

AmeriCorps Members are responsible for facilitating youth and teen programming, data entry, facilitating programming, and marketing tasks.

Empire Volleyball Club – North Central North Dakota

The Empire Volleyball Club is in its second year of operation. EVC provides opportunities for female youth, ages 10-18, to participate in learning skills, strategy, and game play in volleyball. This club is open to individuals in a one-hundred-mile radius of Minot, ND, having a majority of the participants within a 30-mile radius, but some participants as far away as 110 miles.

This AmeriCorps position will work to build and expand the capacity of our organization through strategic communications; volunteer recruitment; and marketing and community outreach to include community partners, members, and the community at large.

Full STEAM Ahead – Northcentral North Dakota

The After School Enrichment program (ASE) led by Full STEAM Ahead is an after school based educational program for youth in local elementary schools.

The role of the Full STEAM Ahead AmeriCorps After School Enrichment instructors are to implement a curriculum based on a variety of STEAM based programming (to include but not limited to robotics, theatre, art, agriculture, coding). AmeriCorps volunteers will have the opportunity to meet with local experts regarding these fields and review and plan curriculum to execute 7 months of after school enrichment programming at a local elementary school.

Grand River Arts Council – Southwest North Dakota

Grand River Arts Council strives to partner, support, and collaborate with those committed to creativity, and encourage a community passion for the arts.

The Grand River Arts Council Media and Event Coordinator AmeriCorps member will increase capacity of the organization through reviewing current media strategies and developing marketing efforts to improve community presence. In addition, the Coordinator will work with the Board of Directors to create and execute arts events in the community.

Minot Symphony and Orchestra – North Central and Northwest North Dakota

The Minot Symphony, a university and community orchestra, aims to enrich lives by providing opportunities for musicians and inspiration to patrons through education and the performance of diverse orchestral repertoire.

This AmeriCorps position will assist the Executive Director with program duties include marketing, planning, and scheduling. This position will also assist in coordinating and implementing other Minot Symphony Orchestra events.

Strengthen ND AmeriCorps Positions– Statewide

Strengthen ND is a dynamic, multi-faceted and well-connected organization that works across North Dakota (ND) to elevate nonprofits and rural communities to support a high quality of life and resources for vulnerable populations through community development. Through the support of AmeriCorps, Strengthen ND can assist North Dakota communities by providing individuals to assist in the building of community capacities.

Strengthen ND Rural Storyteller – Statewide

The Member Storytelling and Statewide Community Building coordinator works with communities to build trust, interview and write the story of local individuals in North Dakota communities. Complete one written story per month, highlighting the individual’s role, their community’s opportunities, and lessons learned.

Strengthen ND Agrotourism Coordinator – Ward County

The Agrotourism Coordinator works to identify and inventory current small production agriculture businesses and small ranchers operating in Ward County and the immediate 7-county region. This individual also creates maps and matrix of those engaging in agritourism. Working with Strengthen ND’s Local Foods Coordinator and Visit Minot’s Executive Director, this individual also creates a report of opportunities to grow agritourism in the selected regions.
