The Remarkable Impact of Strengthen ND’s Initiatives on the Local Community
If you’ve been a part of the North Dakota community, you may have come across our name, Strengthen ND. We are a dynamic organization, elevating nonprofits and rural communities across our state. But what exactly do we do, and what is the impact on our local communities?
Our efforts at Strengthen ND are multi-faceted, with initiatives ranging from the Rural Matters Initiative to Communities with Opportunities, and even the Community-Centered AmeriCorps program. Each of these groups has a unique aim, but at their core, they all work towards one common goal: to build a stronger and sustainable North Dakota.
The Rural Matters Initiative, launched in 2020, is a statewide effort aimed at gathering input on what matters most to residents of rural North Dakota. This initiative demonstrates the organization’s commitment to listening to the voices of the community and using this feedback to shape its strategies.
Through the Communities with Opportunities program, we at Strengthen ND showcase the unique aspects that make each community great, alongside the exciting opportunities available. This initiative’s goal is to keep rural communities thriving, ensuring that North Dakota remains a vibrant place to live, work, and play.
We also assist North Dakota communities to have access to the people-power they need to carry out community projects through the support of AmeriCorps. This initiative not only helps to execute vital community projects but also fosters a sense of unity and collaboration among community members.
Through Creative Community Solutions grants, we at Strengthen ND invest in efforts to develop and test ideas to solve problems, create opportunities, and then spread the best ideas across the community. In fact, we have invested nearly $2.28M in Community Solutions across North Dakota.
Our initiatives have had a profound impact on our local community. By investing in educational opportunities, supporting local food producers, promoting equality, and enhancing the local economy, we at Strengthen ND are not just strengthening our community—we’re transforming it.
