Celebrating Five Years of the Strong Farms Incubator!

It’s hard to believe that five years ago, we embarked on a mission to transform North Dakota’s agricultural landscape. Our vision was clear: to nurture, support, and grow a new generation of farmers through the creation of the Strong Farms Incubator. As we prepare for 2024, we are filled with excitement to share the journey we’ve taken with our community, partners, and the hardworking farmers who have been part of this incredible journey.

In 2019, we at Strengthen ND recognized a need for a more sustainable, localized food system that could empower our communities and stimulate our economy. We saw potential in the hands and hearts of aspiring farmers, who were eager to cultivate the land but lacked the resources and knowledge to do so. Thus, the seed for the Strong Farms Incubator was sown.

Over the next few years, we poured our energy into creating a holistic program that would provide these new farmers with the necessary training, mentorship, and access to land. We forged partnerships with local businesses, educational institutions, and government agencies, ensuring our incubator farmers received the best possible support.

Today, we are proud to say that the Strong Farms Incubator has become a beacon of success. We’ve seen our farmers grow from novices to experienced cultivators, supplying fresh, locally-grown produce to our communities. Their success stories are a testament to their resilience, passion, and the power of community support.

As we move into 2024, we look forward to welcoming a new cohort of farmers into our program, expanding our partnerships, and continuing to push the boundaries of what our local food system can achieve.
